Had brief interaction with this place. Rode up on my bike and asked if they had public showers. They said they had 6. I asked how much it would be to get one. They said they were all in use by their campers. I said 'no worries, I can imagine at this time of day, all 6 will have someone in them.' They said maybe not, but the shower block was currently being cleaned. I said I could wait. They said 'our campers pay a lot of money to be here, so we can't let you on site to just get a shower.' I thanked them for their help, and left. Its a problem I come across regularly in the countryside. While the cities have chavs, the countryside has that exclusionary elitist arrogance. I've come across it at other camp sites before. They know they shouldn't say it, but they always end up saying some variant of 'even though we could allow you, we just... don't want to.' Because its not really about money. I always offer to pay whatever cost they ask, but they'd rather refuse the money. They know its irrelevant that the caravaners have 'paid a lot of money to be there,' because they've not just paid for the shower, have they. So they obviously should have paid more than the person who just needs a shower. Its like when I go to the corner shop, I don't get told I'm not allowed to buy a Mars bar, simply because I don't want to also buy a Snickers. What its really about, is who you are. They don't like that you aren't rich enough to afford a caravan. And they definitely don't want people without access to showers, to be allowed the basic human right of hygeine. Its the caravan site equivalent of when restaurants would refuse people tap water. They look down on people who are disadvantaged in some way. Because if you COULD get a shower in somewhere normal, like your own house or hotel room or wherever you're staying the night, you obviously would. They just want you to stay dirty... its your place.

Been visiting Woodclose park for over 15 years and it’s such a beautiful place, so peaceful. Staff are lovely and the facilities are great could do with better lighting in the shower blocks and up dating but other than that they was ok The pods could do with a deep clean as cobwebs were found, the seating area was dirty under it and the curtain rail above the kitchen fell down when I closed them. Shop a bit expensive but I guess that’s due to where it is and the convenience.

We stayed in a lovely camping pod, a short easy walk to shops and pubs. Sadly, when we went, the water for the whole site was off for a full day, so no washing facilities, couldnt even flush toilets, had to go out to buy bottled water just to make a cup of tea. No apology offered for the inconvenience and on that basis we wouldn't stay again sadly

Loved it. The pod was a bit musty smelling when we first arrived and the inside had more than the odd cob web. The shower facilities and toilet block were spotless. The WiFi is paid but I didn't come out into the countryside for WiFi so it was a non event for me. When I did attempt to connect. Nothing happened. The shop was priced for it's location and convenience. The coffee machine at nearly £3 a cup was about what I expected to pay. The receptionist was "sorry about that" when I explained that the pod hadn't seen a proper clean in some time.

We stayed in the super deluxe pod it was lovely and set in a beautiful location. Its a 1 minute stroll to the shop and reception and the dog field is literally 30 seconds away. The staff are so polite and helpful and made us feel really welcome. The pod had everything we needed and was very clean. You can easily access town over Devils Bridge from the site and the views are amazing. We also purchased a fire pit from site and brought a disposable bbq too, great way to top off a lovely day. 10 out of 10 site

Lovely welcome on to touring park here at Woodclose. Pitch which is fully serviced was great. Arrive for 1.00pm and don't need to leave till 12.00 which is better than many other touring sites. Facilities are excellent lovely and clean. Individual toilets. Showers also individual and included sink and toilet. All spotless. It's in a great position 10 mins from Kirkby Lonsdale and so many walks from the site. Will visit again.

Fully serviced touring pitch, very clean and well spaced pitches. Clean and easy access to toilet facilities. Well stocked on site shop. Very friendly, welcoming staff with a good sense of humour. Easy walk into Kirkby Lonsdale with plenty of coffee shops, bars and restaurants and a local brand supermarket.
