We went for lunch and what a treat. Lots of lovely food in great surroundings with very friendly staff.

Wow! What a lovely experience. We cannot thank Heather and the team enough. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel welcome. The room was great and the food and service were excellent. They went above and beyond especially helping us with food prior to walking 3 peaks. Highly recommend.

We did not stay here but went for a special birthday meal. Got a very warm welcome, and the service throughout was perfect, happy, friendly, but not intrusive. The food was literally out of this world and clearly made by someone with immense pride in their work and who totally loves cooking. Thank you all so much for a perfect lunch. We'll be back if we're in this are again.

Had a 2 night stay here. Enjoyed a very good meal in the restaurant one of the nights. Breakfast was lovely too. Good location so close to Kirkby Lonsdale. I understand the pub is changing hands. I hope the lovely ambience is not spoiled.

Great little bar and restaurant in Casterton, about a 10 minute walk from our holiday cottage. Friendly, helpful and hardworking staff. Prices very reasonable. Food menu was OK, not much for me on it really, but we managed with some nibbles. Small beer garden at the back, overlooking the car park and fields beyond.

We only went for food but ended up visiting twice, this place is lovely, tge staff are really friendly and gave our boy Hooch a treat whilst we were eating. The home cooked chips are probably the best I've had an the roast beef is melt in the mouth. Definitely recommend

What a lovely stay. Some of the white walls could do with being refreshed with some colour, but who cares really, when the welcome is this warm, the food is very good and overall operating standards high? Really enjoyed ourselves.

Had lovely evening meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. Cooked well with lot of flavour. Service quick and efficient. Surroundings very comfortable. Would recommend. Probably need to book at peak times.

We came at lunch time. I had. The squid rings. You got plenty and the dip was very nice but I don't think the rings were home crumbed. They were also just on the wrong side of over cooked. A little rubbery. Easily done. No salad with it either so it was a bit boring for the money. The steak pie. At first when it came out I was a little disappointed with the size but by the end I was very full. It was packed with meat. The pastry was lovely and the chips were crispy, just the way I like them. There was also a nice gravy and some veggies. Definitely recommend. Even though we were full, we're pigs so we ordered dessert. The white and dark choc terrine was nice. The mango compliments the richness well. Highly recommend this place.

Visited the pub for a bite to eat whilst on and attentive. The bar area is very clean and tidy and well laid out. Seating is very comfy and well spread out. Food was absolute excellent, I had the pheasant breast and my partner had the moussaka. Reasonably priced for what you receive. Would highly recommend and would visit again.
